Check and adjustment of turns of idling and delay turns

The following procedure is applicable only to models with engine F8Q. On engines F9Q turns of idling and delay turns are supervised by the electronic module of system of injection.

The usual tachometre which works from impulses of system of ignition, cannot be used on diesel engines. For this purpose is available diagnostic муфта to which diagnostic equipment Renault is connected, but it usually is not accessible to the motorist. If you cannot adjust idling turns on hearing or by means of a tachometre on the instrument panel, it is possible to use following recommendations.
a) Buy or borrow a corresponding tachometre.

Use a comparative method. The stroboscope copes the petrol engine working on desirable speed. If a stroboscope to direct on a label on a cogwheel of a cam-shaft or the fuel pump, the label will seem motionless when turns of both engines are identical (or are multiple to an integer). When the gas lever concerns the idling terminator, turns of idling of the engine should correspond to the value specified in Specifications (address to Specifications). If it is necessary, adjust them as follows.

1. Loosen the a counternut on the screw of adjustment of turns of idling. Rotate the screw and tighten a counternut (address to an accompanying illustration). 2. Check up adjustment of turns of delay as it is described later in this Section. 3. Muffle the engine and disconnect a tachometre.

1. Loosen the a counternut also turn away the screw of adjustment of turns of delay while it will not concern the gas lever on the pump (address to an accompanying illustration). 2. Loosen the a counternut also rotate the screw of adjustment of turns of idling, then repeatedly tighten a counternut. 3. Check up delay turns as it is described later in this Section. 4. Switch off the engine and disconnect a tachometre.

Be convinced that the engine is heated-up to normal working temperature (the fan should join at least twice) that idling turns corresponded specified in Specifications.

CHECK AND ADJUSTMENT OF TURNS OF DELAY

1. Insert a lining or probe in the thickness of 4.0 mm between the gas lever on the pump and the screw of adjustment of turns of delay (address to an accompanying illustration). 2. Engine turns should increase to the turns of delay specified in Specifications (address to Specifications). 3. If adjustment, ослабьте a counternut is necessary, and rotate the screw of adjustment of turns of delay. In summary tighten a counternut. 4. Remove a lining or probe and allow to the engine to idle. 5. Move the lever of fast idling against the stop to a flywheel and be convinced that engine turns have increased to the turns of fast idling specified in Specifications. If it is necessary, ослабьте a counternut and rotate the adjusting screw of fast idling, then repeatedly tighten a counternut. 6. In summary disconnect a tachometre and switch off the engine. 7. After adjustment performance, the delay shock-absorber is necessary for adjusting as follows. 8. Loosen the two screws, fastening the operating lever of the shock-absorber to the gas lever. 9. Insert a lining or probe in the thickness of 1.0 mm between operating lever of delay and the shock-absorber end, then shift the lever to the terminator. Be convinced that the gas lever concerns the screw of adjustment of turns of delay, then tighten two screws of fastening. 10. Remove a lining and be convinced that the gas lever concerns the screw of adjustment of turns of delay.
