Removal and installation of the fuel pump

Be cautious, do not suppose dirt hit in the pump or tubes of atomizers. At installation use new sealing rings on “банджо” connections топливопровода.

REMOVAL

1. On engines F8Q 620 with air conditioner, operate as follows. 2. To get access to bolts of fastening of the fuel pump, it is necessary to remove the generator and its arm. 3. Disconnect a cable of weight from the battery (address to the Head the Electric equipment of the engine for models Scenic). If the autoradio tape recorder in your car is coded before to disconnect the battery, be convinced that you know a code. 4. Remove the generator as the engine Electric equipment is described in the Head, then operate as follows. 5. Turn away bolts of fastening and remove a pulley of the pump of the amplifier of a steering with drive a pump flange. Pay attention that at easing of bolts it is necessary to keep a pulley (for example, by means of old drive a belt). 6. Turn away bolts of fastening and remove an arm with an auxiliary directing roller drive a belt. 7. Turn away two top bolts, fastening the compressor of the conditioner of air to a generator arm. 8. Cock a manual brake, поддомкратьте a forward part of the car and establish it on axial props. Where is available, remove the bottom guard of the engine. 9. Remove the right forward wheel and the loose leaf of an arch of a wheel. 10. Loosen the the bottom fixing nuts and bolts of the compressor of the conditioner, then turn the compressor downwards that the generator arm could be removed from above. 11. For all models operate as it is described in following paragraphs. 12. If it is not executed yet, disconnect a cable of weight from the battery (address to the Head the Electric equipment of the engine for models Scenic). 13. Turn on and uncover the right top support of the engine. 14. Turn коленвал to establish the piston №1 in ВМТ on a compression step, and insert an adjusting pin to check up position коленвала as it is described in the Head engine Repair. 15. Turn away bolts of fastening and uncover gear drive a belt which closes a cogwheel of the fuel pump. 16. If there is a tool for deduction of a pulley of the fuel pump (Renault Mot. 1200), remove an adjusting pin, turn коленвал from ВМТ on one tooth of a pulley of a cam-shaft and insert into a pulley of the fuel pump keeping tool (address to an accompanying illustration). 17. If the specified tool is not present, remove gear приводной a belt as it is described in the Head engine Repair. 18. Disconnect a rope of a pedal of gas from the fuel pump, address to Section Removal, installation and adjustment of a rope of gas if it is necessary. 19. On engines F8Q 620 with a thermodrive of fast idling disconnect a rope of fast idling from the fuel pump (address to Section Removal, installation, check and adjustment of a thermodrive and a rope of fast idling). On models with a vacuum drive of fast idling disconnect a rope from the lever of the pump and a vacuum hose from a drive (address to Section Removal, installation, check and adjustment of components of system of fast idling). 20. On models with turbocharger disconnect a hose, the connecting proof-reader of giving of fuel depending on pressure of pressurisation with the inlet pipeline (address to an accompanying illustration). 21a. Turn away a bolt банджосоединения and disconnect a hose of giving of fuel from the fuel pump. Close the open end of a hose or a pipe and закупорьте a branch pipe on the fuel pump not to admit dirt penetration. 21b. The same make and with the main returnable hose (address to illustrations). 22. Disconnect the main fuel returnable hose from a fuel atomizer (address to an accompanying illustration). 23. Where it is applied, disconnect an auxiliary returnable fuel hose from the pump. On models with turbocharger, the auxiliary hose is connected with the proof-reader of giving of fuel of pressure of pressurisation on the pump (address to an accompanying illustration). 24. Disconnect all electroconducting from the pump. Pay attention that on some pumps it can be made, simply disconnecting conducting from sockets on the pump. On some pumps it is necessary to disconnect conducting from separate components (some connections can be protected rubber covers) (address to an accompanying illustration). On engines with pumps Lucas, disconnect conducting from following blocks: the coded electromagnetic valve, the proof-reader of the moment of injection and a potentiometer of the lever of gas. 25. Turn away connecting nuts, fastening tubes to the fuel pump and atomizers. Remove tubes in gathering. Close open connecting муфты not to admit dirt penetration. Pay attention that from fuel atomizers it is necessary to remove taking away hoses that it was possible to close atomizers (address to an accompanying illustration). 26. Where it is applied, remove a plastic guard of the generator below the fuel pump. Notice an arrangement of the arms attached by nuts and bolts. 27. On engine F8Q 620 operate as follows: 28. Turn away a fixing nut of a pulley of the fuel pump and remove a washer. If there is no tool for pulley deduction (address to an illustration), block a pulley the self-made tool inserted into apertures in a pulley (but not in a pulley teeth). 29. Note an arrangement of a cogwheel concerning the end of a shaft of the pump. It is necessary for making irrespective of, whether has been removed gear приводной a belt or not as in a pulley there are two cuts under segment шпонку (for use with fuel pumps of various types). 30a. Establish special tool Renault (Mot. 1053) on a pump cogwheel (address to an accompanying illustration). Before pulley removal is advised to fix gear приводной a belt, using two plastic couplers. 30b.Регулировочные bolts And and a nut of fastening of V.Pered pump removal turn the basis in an arrow direction. 30c. By means of special tool Renault (Mot. 1359), remove the central bolt of a cogwheel with a plate: the bolt has the left carving (address to an accompanying illustration). 34. Н a place of the central bolt twist special tool Renault (Mot.1357). Then twist bolt М12x125 in length of 40 mm in the tool to release a pulley (see an illustration). 35. On all models, turn away bolts and nuts, fastening an arm of the left support of the fuel pump to a head of the block of cylinders (address to an accompanying illustration). 36. Be once again convinced that all pipes, hoses and wires have been separated from the pump. 37. Put labels for the subsequent combination of the pump and an arm. 38a. Turn away three bolts of fastening. 38b. Cнимите the pump from an arm, leaving a pulley with gear приводным a belt on a place (address to illustrations). On engines F8Q 620 to reach to the bottom fixing bolt it is the most easier on the left side of the pump. For this procedure special tool Renault (Mot is required. 902-02). If it is not present, use a deep head and a lengthening core. On engines with pump Lucas and a type pulley “МАА”, turn away bolts the face figured key Т40 which minimum length should be 60 mm - and displace the pump back. 39. Clean segment шпонку from the end of a shaft of the pump if it is badly fixed. 40. If it is required, from the pump it is possible to turn away an arm of a rope of a pedal of gas.

REMOVAL

1. Disconnect a cable of weight from the battery (address to the Head the Electric equipment of the engine for models Scenic). If the autoradio tape recorder in your car is coded before to disconnect the battery, be convinced that you know a code. 2. Disconnect electroconducting of the electronic module of management, then turn away bolts and remove the electronic module of management from an arm. 3. Disconnect two fuel hoses from the top part of the fuel filter. 4. Disconnect a plait of wires of the pump in the main socket attached to an arm of the electronic module of management. Electroconducting is released from fixing скоб and moves aside. 5. Disconnect a socket of electroconducting from a fuel heater on the filter. 6. Turn away bolts and remove assemblage of the fuel filter and an arm of the electronic module of management. 7. Turn on and uncover the right top fastening of the engine and a cover of a cogwheel of the fuel pump. 8. Turn коленвал that the piston №1 became in ВМТ on a step of compression and insert an adjusting pin to check up position коленвала as it is described in the Head engine Repair. 9. Establish keeping tool on a cogwheel of the fuel pump (Renault Mot. 1200) (see an illustration). 10. Disconnect connecting муфту a returnable fuel hose from the pump. Close the open ends of a hose not to admit dirt penetration. 11. Disconnect the main fuel returnable hose from a fuel atomizer. 12. Disconnect two sockets of electroconducting in the basis of the fuel pump. 13. Turn away connecting nuts, fastening tubes of atomizers to the fuel pump and atomizers. Remove tubes in gathering. Close connecting муфты not to admit dirt penetration. 14. Turn away bolts, fastening an arm of the left support of the fuel pump to the block of cylinders. 15. Put labels on the pump and the right support. It will help at pump installation. 16. Inserting a suitable head through grooves in a pump cogwheel, ослабьте three bolts of the right support of the pump. 17. Note position of a cogwheel concerning a pump shaft to provide correct installation, then ослабьте the central nut, крепящую a pulley to a pump shaft. 18. Serially continue to weaken pump bolts, then a fixing nut of a cogwheel while they will not be turned off completely. Remove the pump from a pulley and the right support, leaving a pulley on a place, linked with gear приводным a belt. Clean segment шпонку from the end of a shaft of the pump if it is badly fixed.

INSTALLATION

1. Where it is applied, attach an arm of the left support of the pump and an arm of a rope of a pedal of gas to the pump. 2. Begin installation, having placed segment шпонку on the end of a shaft of the pump. On engines F8Q 784, 786 and 788, шпонку it is necessary to insert into a cut combined with an axis of an exit of an atomizer of the cylinder №1 (address to an accompanying illustration above "Segment шпонка on a pulley"). On all engines be convinced that a shaft of the pump absolutely dry. 3. Establish the pump on the right arm. If the pulley is on a place, insert a pump shaft into a pulley. Combine the labels made on a pulley and a shaft of the pump. On engine F8Q 620 be convinced that segment шпонка it is inserted into the right cut in a pulley (address to illustrations above "Position of gear wheel ТНВД"). 62 Where it is applied, combine the labels made on the pump and the right arm and if the new pump is established, draw again a label from the old pump to provide approximate installation. 4. Establish and slightly tighten bolts of the right support of the pump. On engine F8Q 620, access to the bottom fixing nut can be improved if to remove an atomizer №4 (address to Section Check, removal and installation of atomizers). Establish bolts and nuts, fastening the left arm of the fuel pump to a head of the block of cylinders, and tighten them, but it is not too strong. 5. On engine F8Q 620, establish a washer, then tighten a fixing nut of a cogwheel of the pump the effort resulted in Specifications, having blocked a pulley as during removal (address to an accompanying illustration). 6. On engines F8Q 784, 786 and 788, establish the central bolt of a cogwheel, using special tool Renault Mot. 1359 (address to an illustration), and tighten its moment of an inhaling of 90 Nanometers. By means of the special tool Renault used at removal, block a pulley and establish a fixing nut, clamping its effort resulted in Specifications. 7. On all engines if gear приводной the belt has been removed, establish and pull it as it is described in the Head engine Repair. 8. Where it is applied, remove keeping tool from a cogwheel, then establish the piston №1 in ВМТ on a compression step as it is described in the Head engine Repair. 9. Check up and adjust the injection moment as it is described in Sections Methods of check and adjustment of the moment of injection or Check and adjustment of the moment of injection. 10. Establish a plastic board under the pump. 11. Establish and connect топливопроводы atomizers and tighten connecting муфты. 12. Connect all electroconducting to the pump. 13. Connect submitting both returnable fuel tubes and hoses, and tighten a bolt “банджо” connections by the effort resulted in Specifications. Use new sealing washers. Also connect taking away hoses. 14. Connect a rope of a pedal of gas and adjust it as Removal, installation and adjustment of a rope of gas is described in Section. 15. On engines F8Q 620 with air conditioner, execute upside-down the actions described in paragraphs above. Establish and pull auxiliary приводной a belt, operating according to the description in the Head Maintenance service. 16. Where it is applied, on models with a thermodrive of fast idling, connect and adjust a rope of fast idling as Removal, installation, check and adjustment of a thermodrive and a rope of fast idling is described in Section, but remember that final adjustment is necessary for executing after the engine will be heated-up to normal working temperature. 17. On models with a vacuum drive of fast idling, connect a hose to a drive, and check up adjustment of length of a rope of fast idling as Removal, installation, check and adjustment of components of system of fast idling is described in Section. 18. Establish a cover gear drive a belt on a cogwheel of the fuel pump and a cover top the right support of the engine, and reliably tighten bolts. 19. Check up switch adjustment “there is no loading” as the engine Electric equipment is described in the Head. 20. Attach a weight cable to the battery. 21. Fill and pump over fuel system as it is described in Section Pouring and prorolling of fuel system. 22. Start the engine and check up turns of idling and delay turns as it is described in Section Check and adjustment of turns of idling and delay turns.

INSTALLATION

1. Establish segment шпонку on the end of a shaft of the pump. 2. Establish the pump on the right support and insert a pump shaft into a cogwheel. If the new pump is established, draw again a label from the old pump to provide approximate installation. 4. Slightly tighten bolts of the right support, then establish the central bolt of a pulley, using special tool Renault Mot. 1359 (address to an illustration). Tighten its moment of an inhaling of 90 Nanometers. By means of special tool Renault block a pulley, establish a fixing nut and tighten its effort resulted in Specifications. 5. Establish and tighten bolts, fastening an arm of the left support of the pump to a head of the block of cylinders. 6. Establish and connect топливопроводы atomizers and tighten connecting муфты. 7. Establish a cover gear drive a belt on a cogwheel of the fuel pump and a cover of the top right support of the engine and reliably tighten bolts. 8. Establish assemblage of the fuel filter and an arm of the electronic module of management. 9. Connect submitting both returnable fuel tubes and hoses. 10. Establish the electronic module of management and connect all electroconducting to the pump. 11. Lower the car on the earth and attach a weight cable to the battery. 12. Fill and pump over fuel system as it is described in Section Pouring and prorolling of fuel system. 13. In summary check up and adjust the injection moment (address to Section Check and adjustment of the moment of injection).
