Removal, survey and installation gear drive a belt

If gear приводной the belt tears at the working engine, it can lead to serious damages. Replace a belt with the intervals specified in Specifications to the Head Maintenance service, or earlier if doubt rather its conditions.

REMOVAL

1. Be convinced that label ВМТ on a cam-shaft cogwheel specifies upwards and is combined with a label on клапанной to a cover. On some models the label on an epiploon casing should be combined with a label on a cogwheel коленвала, located at 6 o'clock, opposite to a cut under segment шпонку. On late models note a casing arrangement to facilitate the subsequent installation (address to an accompanying illustration). 9. Loosen the a nut on the mechanism of a tension gear drive a belt, turn a pulley of the mechanism of a tension counter-clockwise to reduce a tension, then tighten a nut to fix a pulley. 10a. Check up, that on a belt there were the arrows designating a direction of its rotation; if it is necessary, make them. 10b. Remove a belt from cogwheels of a cam-shaft, the water pump and коленвала. If the belt is used again, contrary to instructions Renault, do not overwind and do not break it at removal (address to illustrations). 11. Clear cogwheels and the tension mechanism. Also clear that party of a head and the block of cylinders on which it is established gear приводной a belt.

Survey

Renault recommends to replace gear приводной a belt after its each removal. If the belt tension is checked by means of the special tool it will be suitable for the further use only in the event that a tension - within the maximum deviations specified in Specifications. If - in the bottom range of admissible values, a belt it is impossible to pull a tension further, it should be replaced.

Attentively examine gear приводной a belt on all length, especially in the bases of a teeth. Replace a belt if on it there are pollution by oil or greasing. Replace all proceeding epiploons. The belt should be replaced, if will reach the maximum run.
