Test and accumulator gymnastics

The nominal and low accumulator of service

 TEST

1. At small annual run of the car each three months check electrolit density to define an accumulator condition. Measure electrolit density ареометром and compare results to the following table. Pay attention that the resulted density of electrolit are given for temperature 15С. For everyone 10С more low 15С subtract 0.007, and for everyone 10С above 15С - add 0.007.

2. If the accumulator condition is precisely not known, check up electrolit density in each cell. The difference in 0.040 (or it is more) between any cells specifies in loss of electrolit or on deterioration of internal plates.
3. If the difference of density of electrolit in various cells makes 0.040 (or more), the accumulator should be replaced. If this difference more low 0.040, but the accumulator is discharged, it should be charged as is described further in this Section.

The unattended accumulator

 TEST

1. In cases when the tight unattended accumulator is established, refuelling and check of density of electrolit in each cell are not possible. The accumulator condition can be checked up, only by means of the corresponding indicator or the voltmeter.
2. Unattended accumulator Delco is equipped by the built in indicator of degree заряженности. The indicator is in the top wall of the case of the accumulator and degree заряженности the accumulator can be defined on its colour. If the indicator green the accumulator is completely charged. In process of an accumulator discharge, the indicator becomes more dark and eventually black that means that the accumulator is necessary for charging as is described further in this Section. If the indicator becomes light/yellow electrolit level in the accumulator is too low so the accumulator should be replaced. Do not try to charge at this time the accumulator or to start the engine from an external source.
3. For test of the accumulator by means of the voltmeter, connect the voltmeter to accumulator plugs. Results of such measurement will be exact, only if the accumulator was not exposed to gymnastics within the last six hours. If this condition has been broken, include headlights and leave them to work within 30 seconds. After deenergizing of headlights wait 4 - 5 minutes and make measurement. All other electric chains should be switched off. Be convinced that all doors are well closed.
4. If the measured pressure is less 12.2 Volt the accumulator is completely discharged whereas 12.2 - 12.4 Volt specifies pressure on its partial разряженность.
5. If the accumulator is necessary for charging, remove it from the car (Has undressed Removal and accumulator installation) and execute gymnastics as it is described further in this Section.

 INSTALLATION

1. The full gymnastics of the accumulator of this type demand much more time (about three days at a considerable discharge).
2. For a charge it is necessary зарядное the device which is giving out constant pressure. After connection, the device should be adjusted on pressure 13.9 - 14.9 Volt at a current below 25 A.Pri such way of a charge, the accumulator will be suitable to use in three hours, giving out pressure of 12.5 Volt.
