Removal, survey and installation of a head of the block of cylinders
|

|
1. The following procedure describes removal and installation of a head of the block of cylinders together with the inlet pipeline both a final collector and the fuel pump of a high pressure.
2. Disconnect a cable of weight from the battery (address to the Head an engine Electric equipment). On models with engine F9Q, turn away fixing nuts and remove a sound-proof cover of the engine.

3. Merge a liquid from cooling system, including from the block of cylinders.
4. To improve access, turn away strengthening core (where is available) between domes of racks of a forward suspension bracket.
5. Remove auxiliary приводной a belt. On models with engines F9Q and air conditioner turn away an assembly plate of the mechanism of a tension of an auxiliary belt, then turn away a fixing bolt of the fuel pump/generator.
6. Turn away a cable of weight from a back part of the engine.
7. On models with engine F8Q, disconnect a rope of a pedal of gas from the fuel pump of a high pressure, and move a rope from the engine, having remembered as it lies (address to the Head of the Power supply system and release if it is necessary).

8. Turn away type connection “банджо” and disconnect submitting топливопровод from the fuel pump (address to an accompanying illustration). Clean sealing washers. Закупорьте the open end of a tube and an aperture in the pump to admit dirt penetrations. |
9. Remove fixing скобу and disconnect the main returnable fuel hose on the fuel pump of a high pressure. Pass a hose through a back assembly eye on a head of the block of cylinders and move a hose from the engine. Закупорьте the open ends of a tube and a hose to prevent dirt penetration.
10. Disconnect and remove an air line connecting the air filter with the inlet pipeline or turbocharger (pay attention that also it will be necessary to separate hoses сапуна which are attached to an air line).
11. On engines with turbocharger disconnect and remove an air line connecting a cooler of air (интеркулер) with turbocharger.
12. Remove gear приводной a belt as Removal, survey and installation gear drive a belt is described in Section, and the tension mechanism as Removal at installation of cogwheels drive a belt and the tension mechanism is described in Section. For maintenance of the engine/transmission of technics Renault use the special holder established under the right forward party of the block of cylinders and a stretcher and an additional arm, fixed below the water pump.
13. Turn on the holder of hoses from a forward part of an arm of the fuel pump and move hoses and the holder from the pump.
14. Disconnect hoses сапуна from an oil separator, and on engines with turbocharger disconnect also a hose from the proof-reader of pressure of pressurisation on the fuel pump. As disconnect the ends of these hoses from a collector.
15. Turn on one holder of a hose from a forward assembly eye, and one more - from the vacuum pump, and remove assemblage of a hose from the engine.
16. On engines without турбокомпрессора, disconnect a hose of system of cooling from a thermostat casing.

17. On engines with turbocharger, turn away a casing of the thermostat from a head of the block of cylinders, and move it aside, without separating hoses and gauge conducting (address to an accompanying illustration). |
18. Disconnect a hose of system of cooling from the left back corner of a head of the block of cylinders, and move it aside from a head.

19. Disconnect a hose from the vacuum pump (address to an accompanying illustration). |
20. Disconnect all electroconducting from the fuel pump. Note all connections not to mix at installation.
21. Disconnect electric feeding wires from candles накаливания.
22. On engines without турбокомпрессора, disconnect a socket of electroconducting from the gauge block стрелочного the index / a control lamp of temperature of the cooling liquid, the thermostat established in a casing below the vacuum pump.
23. Disconnect all tubes and hoses from a collector and турбокомпрессора, being guided by corresponding Sections of the Head of the Power supply system and release. Note all tubes and hoses not to mix at installation.
24. Where are applied, turn on holders of hoses from collectors and round a head, and move hoses aside.
25. On engines with turbocharger, remove two bolts, fastening a cranked branch pipe of an input турбокомпрессора to an arm on a transmission. Remove a nut and a bolt, fastening an assembly arm to турбокомпрессору and to an entrance cranked branch pipe, and remove a cranked branch pipe.
26. Remove bolts, fastening an internal top cover of a gear belt to the block of cylinders.
27. Remove a bolt of fastening of an intermediate pulley gear drive a belt which passes through an internal cover.
28. Remove a forward part of final system as it is described in the Head of the Power supply system and release.
29. On engines with turbocharger, turn away a connecting nut, крепящую маслоподающую a tube турбокомпрессора to the block of cylinders, and lift the receiver.
30. On engines with turbocharger, turn away bolts, fastening an arm турбокомпрессора to турбокомпрессору and to the engine, and remove an arm.
31. If it is not executed yet, remove an adjusting pin from the block of cylinders and turn коленвал counter-clockwise on a turn quarter to place all four pistons in an average part of cylinders.

32. Working in sequence, return shown on an illustration, gradually ослабьте bolts of fastening of a head of the block of cylinders on a half-turn for reception while they cannot be turned on manually (address to an accompanying illustration). Will throw out bolts. |
33. The head of the block of cylinders together with the details fixed on it very heavy, therefore at its removal from the block of cylinders is recommended to use лебедку.

34. Lift a head (together with collectors, the fuel pump and an internal top cover of a gear belt) upwards from the block of cylinders (address to an accompanying illustration). If adjusting pins are free, remove them and combine together with a head. |

1. Combined surfaces of a head and the block of cylinders should be absolutely pure. By means of a scraper remove all to a lining and deposit trace, and also clear the top parts of pistons. Work especially cautiously with an aluminium head of the block of cylinders as soft metal can be easily damaged. Also watch, that the dirt has not got to oil and water channels it it is especially important for a greasing chain as the deposit can block oil giving to a cam-shaft and bearings коленвала or коромыслам. By means of a sticky tape and a paper isolate water, oil channels and apertures under bolts in the block of cylinders. Similarly clear the bottoms of pistons.
2. Check up the block and a head on presence щербинок, deep scratches and other damages. If there are small scratches, they can be removed accurately a file. More serious damage probably to eliminate a repoint, but it is necessary to charge this work to the expert.
3. By means of a ruler put on an edge, check up a curvature of a head of the block of cylinders. On engine E7J also check up выступание sleeves of cylinders.
4. Clear all apertures under bolts in the block. See, that in them there was no oil, differently there is a probability of that at a tightening of bolts the block can burst under the influence of hydraulic pressure.
5. Examine a carving of bolts and a carving in the block of cylinders on presence of damages. If it is necessary, a tap of the suitable size update a carving in the block and a screw-cutting die clear a carving on bolts. It is recommended to replace bolts after their each removal. |

1. Turn коленвал, that pistons of №1 and №4 steels in position hardly more low ВМТ (below a surface of the block of cylinders). Place a micrometer with a dial on the block of cylinders, establish it on a zero on a block surface. Rearrange a device probe in the centre of the piston №1, then slowly turn коленвал back and forth that the piston took place position ВМТ, marking the highest indication of a micrometer. Write down the received result.

2. Repeat this procedure on the piston №4, then turn коленвал on a half-turn (180 °) and repeat procedure on pistons №2 and №3 (address to an accompanying illustration). All measurements should be carried out on a longitudinal axis коленвала (to exclude errors because of a piston bias). |

BOLTS OF FASTENING OF THE HEAD OF THE BLOCK OF CYLINDERS
The manufacturer recommends to replace bolts of fastening of a head of the block of cylinders after their each removal.
|
1. Establish collectors, турбокомпрессор (where it is applied) and the fuel pump of a high pressure on a head of the block of cylinders, being guided by corresponding Sections of the Head of the Power supply system and release.
2. Take an adjusting pin from the block of cylinders and turn коленвал clockwise until pistons №1 and №4 will not pass position of the bottom dead point and will start to rise, then place them in the middle of cylinders (it is necessary for prevention of possibility of blow of the piston on valves. Do not turn more коленвал, yet do not establish gear приводной a belt.

3. Be convinced that adjusting pins are at a stop in the block of cylinders, then arrange a lining, correctly having focused it (address to an accompanying illustration). |
4. Lower a head on the block of cylinders. The internal top cover of a gear belt should incorporate correctly to the bottom internal cover on the block of cylinders. Disconnect the elevating device and лебедку. On engines F8Q track, that vortical chambers have not dropped out of nests in a head of the block of cylinders.
5. Slightly grease new bolts of fastening of a head of the block of cylinders. Wait, while will flow down superfluous oil, then insert bolts with washers and tighten them manually.

6. In the shown sequence tighten bolts of fastening of a head of the block of cylinders the effort resulted in Specifications (address to an accompanying illustration). Pay attention, on engines F8Q without турбокомпрессора or on engines F9Q repeatedly to tighten bolts it is not required. And on engines F8Q with turbocharger in conclusion of assemblage after the first start of the engine it is necessary to tighten in addition bolts, preliminary having warmed up the engine to normal working temperature and having waited, while it will not cool down completely. |
7. On engines with turbocharger, establish an arm турбокомпрессора and tighten fastening bolts.
8. On engines with turbocharger, establish маслоподающую a tube/hose турбокомпрессора and tighten connecting муфту on the block of cylinders.
9. Establish a forward part of final system as it is described in the Head of the Power supply system and release.
10. Establish a bolt of fastening of an intermediate pulley gear drive a belt to the block of cylinders, then establish the mechanism of a tension gear drive a belt as Removal at installation of cogwheels drive a belt and the tension mechanism is described in Section.
11. Establish new gear приводной a belt as Removal, survey and installation gear drive a belt is described in Section.
12. On engines with turbocharger, examine a sealing ring in an entrance cranked branch pipe турбокомпрессора, and replace it if it is necessary. Establish a cranked branch pipe and an arm.
13. Establish fastenings of hoses on collectors as it is noted before removal.
14. Connect all tubes and hoses to collectors and турбокомпрессору as it is noted before removal.
15. On engines without турбокомпрессора, connect electroconducting to the gauge block стрелочного the index / a control lamp of temperature of a cooling liquid.
16. Connect feeding wires to candles накаливания.
17. Connect all electroconducting to the fuel pump of a high pressure.
18. Connect a cable of weight of the engine to a back assembly eye.
19. Connect a hose of system of cooling to a head of the block of cylinders and a hose to the vacuum pump of brake system.
20. Connect air lines to the air filter, the inlet pipeline, турбокомпрессору and to air cooler (интеркулеру) where is available. Be convinced that all hoses are correctly connected.
21. On engines with turbocharger, examine a sealing ring between a casing of the thermostat and a head of the block of cylinders and replace it if it is necessary. Establish a thermostat casing to a head of the block of cylinders.
22. On engines without турбокомпрессора, connect a hose of system of cooling to a thermostat casing.
23. Connect hoses сапуна картера, and on engines with turbocharger also connect a hose of correction of pressure of pressurisation. Establish arms on an assembly eye of the engine and the vacuum pump.
24. Establish a hose arm on an arm of the fuel pump of a high pressure.
25. Pass the main returnable fuel hose through an assembly eye of the engine and connect it to a tube on the fuel pump of a high pressure.
26. Connect a hose of giving of fuel to the fuel pump.
27. Connect a rope of a pedal of gas as it is described in the Head of the Power supply system and release.
28. Where it is applied, establish strengthening core on куполы racks of a forward suspension bracket.
29. Be convinced that the drain stopper in the block of cylinders (where is available) is reliably fixed, then fill and pump over cooling system.
30. Establish the mechanism of a tension auxiliary drive a belt and an arm, then - приводной a belt.
31. Attach a weight cable to the battery.
32. Pump over fuel system as it is described in the Head of the Power supply system and release.
33. On engines with turbocharger before to start the engine, execute the procedure described in the Head of the Power supply system and release (filling of a chain of greasing турбокомпрессора). On models with engine F9Q, establish a sound-proof cover of the engine.
34. On engines F8Q with turbocharger, tighten bolts of fastening of a head of the block of cylinders the moment of a final stage (address to Specifications), preliminary having warmed up the engine to normal working temperature and having waited, while it will not cool down completely. Probably it is necessary to remove the top arm of the right support of the engine (address to Section Replacement of support of the engine/transmission) to get access to one of bolts. |
