Check and adjustment of backlashes of valves

This action is not included in the service schedule. To undertake it follows in the event that noise from газораспределительного the mechanism or if it is suspected is audible that capacity loss has occurred because of wrong backlashes of valves. At wrong installation the new lining клапанной covers can be demanded.

 CHECK

1. If it is necessary for access improvement, let out from fastening hoses which pass over клапанной a cover, and displace them aside. If топливопроводы are separated, закупорьте the open ends to prevent dirt hit.
2. On models with engine F8Q, turn away bolts of fastening and remove the top plastic cover drive a belt / the right support of the engine, marking a site of bolts of fastening. On models with engine F9Q, turn away fixing nuts and remove a sound-proof cover.
3. Turn away fixing nuts (engines F8Q) or bolts (engines F9Q) and remove клапанную a cover from the engine. Remove a lining.
4. At carrying out of the following procedure коленвал it should be turned by a wrench for a pulley bolt. To improve access to a bolt, поддомкратьте a forward right corner of the car and remove a wheel and the loose leaf of an arch of a wheel (it is attached plastic скобами).
5. That коленвал it was easier to turn, remove candles накаливания (the Head an engine Electric equipment) or fuel atomizers (the Head of the Power supply system and release).

6. Sketch an arrangement of valves on a paper, having numbered them from 1 to 8 from a flywheel (i.e. 1Е, 2I, 3E, 4I, 5I, 6E, 7I, 8E; where “Е” is a final valve, and “I” - the inlet valve) (address to an accompanying illustration).

7. Turn коленвал while valves of the cylinder №1 do not become in intermediate position - i.e. the final valve will be closed, and inlet - to open. The piston of the cylinder №4 will be above a compression step, and both its valves will be completely closed - and now it is possible to check up backlashes of both valves of the cylinder №4.

8. Insert probe a correct thickness (address to Specifications) between a working ledge of a cam and a washer on pusher top (address to an accompanying illustration). If probe enters freely or does not enter absolutely, selecting probeы a various thickness, define an exact backlash and write down it that after it was possible to calculate a demanded thickness of a new washer. Pay attention that backlashes of inlet and final valves are various (address to Specifications).

9. Having checked up backlashes of valves of the cylinder №4, turn коленвал on a half-turn so that valves of the cylinder of №3 steels in intermediate position, then check up backlashes of valves of the cylinder №2. Check up also backlashes of the remained valves in the shown sequence (address to an accompanying illustration).

For adjustment performance the micrometer is required.

 ADJUSTMENT

1a. Where the backlash of valves differs from the regulated size, it is necessary to replace an adjusting washer, preliminary having calculated the necessary thickness. The thickness is specified on the bottom party of a washer

1b. But it is better to measure it by means of a micrometer as because of deterioration the washer can be more thin, than it is specified on it (address to illustrations).

2. The demanded thickness of a washer is calculated as follows. If the measured backlash less specified in Specifications, subtract from the backlash specified in Specifications the measured backlash, and then subtract this difference from a thickness of an existing washer.
For example:
The calculation example - a backlash is too small
The measured backlash () = 0.15 mm
The necessary backlash () = 0.20 mm
Difference (В-А) = 0.05 mm
Thickness of the established washer = 3.70 mm
Demanded thickness of a washer = 3.70 - 0.05 = 3.65 mm
3. If the measured backlash more specified in Specifications, subtract from the measured backlash the backlash specified in Specifications and add result to a thickness of an existing washer.
For example:
Calculation example - a backlash too big
Measuring backlash () = 0.50 mm
Desirable backlash () = 0.40 mm
Difference (А-В) = 0.10 mm
Thickness of the established washer = 3.45 mm
Demanded thickness of a washer = 3.45 + 0.10 = 3.55 mm

4. The washer can be removed from a pusher, without removing a cam-shaft if there is special tool Renault (address to an accompanying illustration).

5. To remove a washer, the pusher is necessary for pressing, overcoming pressure of a spring of the valve. Theoretically, it can be made if to rest the lever against a cam-shaft between working surfaces of cams a suitable screw-driver, pressing a pusher with an adjusting washer downwards, but it is not recommended the manufacturer. If this method nevertheless is used, work very cautiously, do not damage a cam-shaft, a head of the block of cylinders or a pusher (address to an accompanying illustration).

6. Working ledges of cams by pusher pressing should be directed upwards, and pushers turn so that their cuts have settled down perpendicularly to a cam-shaft axis. Establish a washer marks of a thickness downwards.
7. If tool Renault is not present and it is impossible to make suitable replacement for removal of washers it will be necessary to remove a cam-shaft as Removal is described in Section, survey and installation of a cam-shaft and pushers.
8. Remove a head or a wrench from a pulley bolt коленвала.
9. Establish клапанную a cover, using a new lining and tighten fixing nuts the effort resulted in Specifications.
10. Establish fuel atomizers (as it is described in the Head of the Power supply system and release) or candles накаливания (the Head an engine Electric equipment).
11. Establish/connect hoses, which have been displaced to get access. If топливопроводы have been separated, connect them, and then pump over fuel system as it is described in the Head of the Power supply system and release.
12. Establish the top plastic cover drive a belt / the right support of the engine.

ENGINES F9Q

The same procedure use for final valves except that коленвал it should be turned on 180 ° against a normal direction of rotation.
5. Before washer installation wipe the top part of a pusher and be convinced that all oil is removed from dredging under a washer in the top part of a pusher. Establish a washer in a pusher, the ledge should settle down in pusher dredging.
6. If tool Renault is not present, for replacement of washers it is necessary to remove a cam-shaft as it is described in Section 8.
7. Remove a wrench from a pulley bolt коленвала.

9. Establish fuel atomizers (as it is described in the Head of the Power supply system and release), or candles накаливания (the Head an engine Electric equipment).

12. Establish a sound-proof cover of the engine.
