Removal and installation of cross-section steering draught

Not to damage steering рейку at draught removal, are necessary a special wrench (№ Dir. 1305 under catalogue Renault) and an assembly clip рейки (№ Dir. 1306 for steering рейки SMI or 1306-01 for рейки TRW) (address to illustrations more low).

On described models there is a steering mechanism of two типов:SMI and TRW. The type рейки can be defined on a brand on картере the steering mechanism. If work is carried out on steering рейке SMI, at installation new assemblage контрящей washers of steering draught is required.

REMOVAL

1a. Steering рейка it is blocked by an assembly clip. 1b. Remove шаровый the hinge of a tip of draught as Removal and installation of a tip of steering draught is described in Section. 2. Cut collars and remove a protective cover of the steering mechanism from steering draught. It is recommended to replace a protective cover, irrespective of its condition. 3. If special tools are not accessible, turn away the internal hinge of draught from the end the helmsman рейки suitable flat-nose pliers. Block steering рейку, keeping контрящую a washer of the spherical hinge the second flat-nose pliers. Work cautiously, do not scratch рейку or шаровый the hinge. 4. Separate assemblage of steering draught from рейки. On steering mechanisms SMI will throw out assemblage контрящей washers - it is subject to replacement. 5. If the internal hinge moves too freely or hardly or if steering draught is deformed/is damaged, replace assemblage. Also it is recommended to replace a protective cover of the steering mechanism.

INSTALLATION

1. Before installation of steering draught remove from it and рейки all traces taking компаунда. 2. On the models equipped with steering mechanism SMI (4), collect new контрящую a washer (3) and a blocking ring (2) and establish them on the end of steering draught (1) (address to an accompanying illustration). 3. Cover a carving of steering draught taking компаундом (Renault recommends Lostite Frenbloc), then establish draught on the end the helmsman рейки.
