System of pillows of safety - the general information and safety measures

All models considered in the present Management are equipped by system of additional safety (SRS), more known under the name of pillows of safety. Two pillows of safety are included in an obligatory complete set. The system provides additional protection of the driver and the forward passenger of the car at strong head-on collisions. If the car is equipped by a driver's pillow of safety, on the central overlay of a steering wheel under which the pillow module is located, warning marks in the form of inscription AIRBAG are put. If in the car the pillow of safety of the forward passenger is provided, the similar inscription is put down also on the right on the panel of devices. The system consists of the block of management SRS with the built in gauge of the directed overloads and equipped газогенераторами modules of pillows of safety. In an instrument guard control lamp SRS is established.
System inclusion occurs at strong face-to-face blows when the arising axial overload exceeds some established value. Filling of a pillow with gas occurs for milliseconds, thus it completely fills space between a breast and a head of the driver / the forward passenger and a steering wheel/panel of devices that essentially reduces risk of reception by people of traumas. Simultaneously the block of management SRS gives out a command on operation натяжителей seat belts of forward seats (the Body see the Head). Release of gas from pillows is made almost right after their fillings.
Each time at ignition inclusion occurs short-term operation of control lamp SRS in an instrument guard of the car. While the lamp continues to burn (about 3 seconds) the management block has time to receive the necessary information from the self-diagnostics device. If any malfunctions it is not revealed, the lamp dies away, otherwise, and also at operation of a lamp during movement the car should be driven away on car repair shop Renault for carrying out of diagnostics of system and performance of necessary repair.

Safety measures

Before to start performance of any works on service of pillows of safety, in order to avoid reception of traumas at casual operation of modules disconnect the battery and deactivate system SRS. For system deactivation take from the assembly block safety lock SRS. To start performance of works it is possible only after not less than five minutes after safety lock extraction, - this time should suffice for a discharge of reserve capacities in the management block. At battery connection track, that nobody was in car salon. Trial inclusion of ignition should be made outside of the car through an open driver's door.

Remember that modules of pillows of safety should not be exposed to influence of heats. At removal of pillows put them always the person upwards in order to avoid casual operation газогенератора.

Do not suppose contact of modules of pillows of safety to any type solvents. For rubbing of components use only damp rags.

Both modules of pillows of safety, and the block of management SRS are sensitive to shock influences. Try not to drop system components as then it is necessary to replace them.

Before application on the car of electroarc welding disconnect electroconducting from the module of management SRS.
